Overview

Reports exist to provide a visualisation of a structured data set. Dynamics 365 offers several tools to produce reports to satisfy complex business requirements that exist as standard on the deployment of an environment. Reports are commonly utilised to:

  • Monitor key performance metrics and identify trends in data
  • Navigate the system through filtered searches
  • Create and archive transactional documents as part of the posting process
  • Distributing documents to customers and employees
  • Extracting data to clearly demonstrate the health of a business

Dynamics 365 Finance and Supply Chain Management provides extensive data analytics and reporting capabilities as summarised below

  • embedded Power BI analytics, native controls and reporting
  • filterable grid-based inquiries, with excel export capabilities
  • conventional master and transactional data-based reporting delivered via the SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) toolset
  • specific financial reporting toolset for the definition and creation of financial statements e.g. Profit and Loss, Balance Sheet
