Statistical Accounting

Statistical accounting allows reporting for non-monetary values such as hours, area, or headcount.

This can be incorporated into financial reporting in Dynamics 365 to calculate ratios such as cost per department per head.

To create statistical main accounts in Dynamics 365, best practice is to create a unique main account code – to isolate from the primary code structure.

For example, if your primary accounting structure covering all Income, Expense, Assets and Liabilities are between 100000 and 999999, the statistical accounts could be alpha characters “HOURS”, “HEADDCOUNT”.

These accounts are then set as statistical accounts in the main account screen.

Following this configuration, when entering a journal against this account, the values added on the journal line are recorded as statistics only.
